Assessments
Professional Assessments
Assessments include a complete bio-psycho-social background evaluation using the ASI-lite for guidance, completion and interpretation of a SASSI-4 test, diagnosis (if applicable), recommendations, and if needed, a Statement of Safety to practice in current career.
Assessments can be performed for several reasons. An individual, family, parents, interventionist, physician, therapist, school counselor, employer, licensing board, other regulatory boards, etc. may wish to refer someone for an assessment to determine the correct diagnosis, appropriate interventions and recommendations, and assessment of immediate needs. They can be useful for clients that are looking for greater insight into substance use and impact in their own on-going clinical work with a primary counselor. Employers may also find these services beneficial for concerns regarding employees. Individuals may have simply reached a place where they recognize they want help, but they do not yet know what exactly they are dealing with or the best place to go. Assessments can be initial, relapse, or preventative in nature. I have comprehensive knowledge of resources for treatment options throughout the United States, utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques and when appropriate I am familiar with more traditional approaches of 12-step work and various levels of care to provide the best possible referrals for assistance.
